I visited Alan Lilly's web site Panofish Blog after he left a comment here and I came across a great post about the Syma s107 remote control helicopter. I bought one for my father-in-law a couple of months ago from Amazon.com for less than $25 with free shipping.

It's been great fun and very durable.  I highly recommend getting one if you'd like a nice toy for yourself or a great gift for someone else.  If you do I suggest getting a 110-volt charger for less than $4 which will charge it quicker and save batteries.  You can also get a spare set of blades for about the same price.  (Which we haven't needed yet.)
